When I was a child I was actually rather artsy.

I grew up in the country so I would often sit outside and either write stories, poems and music or I would be drawing something that caught my eye far off in the back paddocks.

I particularly remember this old rickety gate we use to have going from our backyard to the paddocks. We lived on large acreage so there was always something old and amazing to draw. This gate was rather large, to the point where we could get a car and horse float through it, but we actually never used it.

It was old, brown and falling a part but I loved it. One day I laid out on my trampoline with my pencil and paper infront of me and drew it. I wish I had kept the sketch so I could look back at it today. It would had to be a good 20+ years old now.

What’s really weird and actually quite sad, is that I actually forgot how creative I was up until just recently. Growing up, I watched the years pass and I got older and older….as I reached my adulthood, I started to forget that creative side and started to become an ‘adult.’

I found myself in the Corporate world and all of a sudden I had become a ‘professional’, leaving my childhood greatness in the far corners on my mind.

I remember that I started to use the excuse that I was a much faster typer than I was at writing so I said goodbye to paper and pen and never really ‘wrote again.

It wasn’t until I started journaling back in December 2016 that I remembered just how much more of a connection you have when you actually write on paper.

That feeling of deep connection to what you’re saying and the way the words just flow.

And it’s not even about stories anymore….. I have found that you can create anything you want in life by asking the right questions and detailing every aspect of the life you want, as if you already have it.

Journaling about the struggles, the accomplishments and the gratitude has shown me once again the power of putting words to paper and just how intelligent we are.

It is amazing!

Being able to simply write a question down and then allowing our brain to actually come up with a solution immediately absolutely amazes me. We often do not give ourselves enough credit for how smart we actually are.

Have a watch of this video where I actually go into detail about how I journal and how you can create anything you want in life simply by asking for it. Ohh and I actually read a section out of my own personal journey so don’t miss that at the end.

I hope you enjoy!

Let me know if you start to journal and what you get out of it as we’re all different….or tell me if you already journal and what you love about it.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Leave me a comment below and feel free to share if you think you know someone else that would get value.
