StressWorking a full time job, blogging and then trying to fit in time for myself, my partner, my family, my friends AND as well as all the domesticated duties cause I’ve found out recently there is no such thing as a cleaning fairy hahaha …… you could say that I have had my fair share of stress haha

Now stress or in particular chronic stress can be very damaging to our mind and body.

It’s important to understand the signs of stress and to implement strategies to ensure that a) you give yourself a fighting chance to resist becoming stressed in the first place and b) if you start to see the signs, being able to semi control it so that it does not turn into chronic stress.

Causes of Stress

Causes of stress can be triggered by something different depending on the type of person you are. There might be one issue that you’re worried about or it could be a build up of many problems.

You could be arguing a lot at home with loved ones, have too much work that you’re trying to get through, be studying for an exam etc

Understanding Signs of Stress

It’s important to know you and your body so that you can identify those stress symptoms before it gets severe.

Sometimes you can be blind to it because you’re so caught up with the situation.

For me personally, my symptoms include craving comfort foods, I start to eat a lot of chocolate, I am easily irritable and become very impatient with my partner. I also find it difficult to fall asleep regardless of how tired I am.

Now it will differ from person to person but those are just some of the things I experience.

What Does Stress Do To The Body

This short video explains very cleverly what stress does to your body:

So as you can see, it can have a HUGE impact on your mind, body and soul.

If you are unable to manage your stress, it could potentially lead to multiple health issues in the future including depression, weight gain and heart disease.

Managing Stress

Now I’m no Doctor so do not wish to give you any advice. But I would suggest just trying a few different things out and find what best works for you.

It could be exercising, having a candle lit bath, going out for dinner with your other half, going to a day spa, daily meditation and good healthy eating etc.

Find what relaxes you and implement it into your daily, weekly or monthly routine.

Remember, you are your number one priority so you need to take care of yourself!
